I just came across this term, aperture bracketing while looking at some videos on attaining the sharpest aperture. While it made complete sense that I need to test the depth of field by shooting at various f-stops, is there a control in DSLR that makes this task as simple as exposure bracketing? BTW, I have Canon EOS 50D.August 9, 2012 at 3:50 pm #13311
Unfortunately there is no such auto control for bracketing the aperture like exposure bracketing. But I think you can bracket the aperture by turning on the manual mode, with an exception that you will have to change the shutter speed as well every single time you take a shot. So I think it is better to stick to aperture priority mode and manually change the aperture after every shot to see how much of depth of field works for you.
