I really like the site and appreciate all the information. I am really a novice+ photographer ( a little knowledge above the auto cameras). I would like to see comparison of cameras. I am looking at the Canon 60 D with a 18-200mm lens. Costs is approx. $1400. Seems like a great deal for a home, kids, and seems to have enough bells for lots of the exciting topics on APN

Who talked about a review here or even slightly indicated in that direction? It is a cheap allegation and APN has never done a single paid article till date. Yes D800 has a peculiar AF focus problem. Half the world doesn't know how to figure out whether they have a problem or not, forget about fixing it. D7000 too had an AF issue. But it's surprising how you got the figure of 30% on D800 returns. Your other comment containing more cheap verbiage has been moderated.

Again, we have here a marketing pitch instead of a real life review. It is very strange that after being out for so long, no serious and pro review has been done by any of the usual reviewers (dpreview etc..).

Wonder why ? We are submerged by merchandising biased opinion that calls themselves "reviews".
Why wouldn't we buy the D600 ?: Simply enough because we are not completely lobotomized yet to spend 2000 bucks for another D800 focus defaulted disaster scam (30% of returns by buyers).
How much does Nikon pay you for this article ? I hope you et money for it, otherwise you have been utilized.

I might go for the A99 or the 6D if the reviews and samples are good, or if I can test it.

If Nikon wants me to buy one of its faulty, low quality control (made in Thailand for obvious reasons of very cheap and low workforce) and badly supported products, they are welcome to send me a sample that I can test.

Thanks for your comment Mr. Sharma. I understand quite a few readers took issue with the title. Even though the intent behind the article was to invite readers' feedback as to why they would not want the equipment concerned, I understand the title can be changed (and has been changed). Thanks for your valuable feedback. We hope you enjoy APN.

As much as I found the article informative and comprihensive, I must express my disappointment at the title of the article. I am an avid supporter of APN and hope that it will maintain it's reputation as a reliable source of knowledge and and honest community. APN has no need to bring their standard down, I hope to see you back to your usual intelligent and straightforward style soon.

@Matthew: While there's every reason to go for the D600, give it a second thought and many would realize that it's not their camera.

BTW, the D600 has fewer pixels than D800 etc. so if you are after megapixels, you may want to go for D800 or just wait ;)

Really? "Why You Don't Want Nikon's Latest...." I expected an article with some thought-provoking ideas. All you delivered is yet another article cramming yet another new digital camera down "our" throats.

I have students clamoring for accurate information about which cameras they should buy and all I hear is "MEGAPIXELS!" I saw this headline and thought, "wow, a voice of reason, finally!"

WRONG. Just another sales pitch.
