I notice that these are listed as “best sellers”. It’s obvious they cannot necessarily “the best cameras”.

Users would do well to purchase a camera dictated by their individual needs for the particular field of photography the camera will be used in. And that camera could be the “best camera” for them individually.

Guess I’m still old school, but if I were doing professional work now, my cameras would include one or two versions of Leicas, same with Hasselblad, an 4×5 outfit, an 8×10 view, all with good lenses and shutters. But then, my main field of work was in industrial photography. But I also did weddings, and other social events, as well as news work, and illustrative photography.

For those not planning on making a living with their camera, but want to enjoy taking pictures, then just look for the camera that will suit your own needs. But be sure to get one with a GOOD LENS! Can’t get good pics without a good lens!

Enjoy your camera, wether just an average man or woman, or a pro. And not all “pro’s” are really good pro’s! (Some are not even up to amateur level, even though they think they are.)

I onw a nikon D5000+nikkor 24-mm and sigma 70-300mm. its realy fair in quality, performance and also fast in action. I trust it, specially for the vari angle LCD and the battery life. amazing

Deji you are absolutely right :) i hope the author of this article could rewrite this article corrected. otherwise i ask readers of this page to make few researches including http://www.dpreview.com website with their research :). its a useful website. anyway 5d mark 2 is one of the best DSLR in the market. you can read lots of reviews online including reviews from http://www.dpreview.com this website offers lots of information including info on DSLR and lenses from nikon canon sony kodak panasonic lumix and almost all brands. Thank you

I own Nikon D3100 and I must say that I’m really satisfied with its performance, it’s surely one of the best DSLR cameras for beginners. And its really worth its price!

All the rated cameras are Canon and Nikon. The DSLR arena seems unchallenged for quite a while already and there’s no sign of any rising threat. Good for these producers but bad for users.

We are devoid of other options and these 2 are exploiting that opportunity to the fullest by turning out rubbish sometimes and forcing us to swallow those. I was expecting Pentax, Olympus or Sony to catch up but their offerings are hugely inadequate to pose any serious threat. Cannot help being pessimist nevertheless; look forward to light at end of the tunnel.

EOS 7D and the EOS 5D Mark II have different sensors. While the %d has a full frame sensor which allows you to get good noise performance at higher ISO’s, the technology (feautres) of 7D make it obsolete like any other 6 month old camera (if you leave the sensor size considerations). As for the Nikon D3100, it is a reasonable entry level camera. So I stand corrected for using “youth”.

“Canon EOS 7D is an enhancement of its sibling Canon EOS 5D MarkII”??? Are you serious? In what areas (other than the number “7” being greater than “5”) is the 7D an “enhancement” of the 5D. Did the author of this article actually read the specifications of both cameras before making that statement.
and “Nikon D3100 is the choice of the youth” huh? What makes a camera “the choice of the “aged” or “infants” or whatever age group?
It is extremely difficult to take this site seriously after reading this page.

The title reads Top DSLRs — Top 10 Best Selling DSLR Cameras In 2010. I don’t find anything wrong with that because it reads 2010 NOT 2011.

Yes EOS 450D is a great camera. It can beat out other heavyweights in IQ if shot in RAW followed by good processing. Main reason is its 12 mp sensor which is the optimum resolution for crop sensors. The rest produce awful amount of noise that needs heavy noise reduction action in order to get a decent output at the cost of fine details.

I think the title should be revised. How can anyone say any of these are the best selling cameras in 2011 when it’s only the end of January 2011. Should this read best selling of 2010. Heck the Canon 60D has only been out for about 3 months and it not listed here yet the 450D (xSi) is . . . Hmmm.
